The Deep Learning program that we have adopted here at Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College encourages our students to take on a global perspective. In Term 3 last year, students were given opportunities to reach out to the community and support people and charities that they felt a connection with. This program teaches them to be selfless, empathetic and compassionate towards others. But teaching our students to ‘Learn, Lead and Serve’ should not only be done during allocated lessons within the school timetable – it is hoped that our students will show initiative to help solve problems in the real-world in a proactive manner. Millie S. in 1AH is one such student. She was inspired last year, after seeing a Clean Up Australia Day clip, and arranged to help clean up her local area this year. Well done Millie S.!
