Our Careers Program is concentrated in Year 10, with students completing an online self-assessment career exploration program called Career Voyage to investigate their interests and preferences and gain suggestions for suitable careers. We will also visit the Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Careers Expo in May, offer interviews with the Careers Adviser, Parents, and Students prior to subject selection for 2021, and run our Work Experience program at the end of the year.
Students in Year 11 will also be visiting the Careers Expo in 2021 since they missed out on this event in 2020.
University applications through Universities Admissions Centre officially open on 1 April (although many 2022 courses will not be available on the system until August). Year 12 students will take part in an information session on how to apply, the Schools Recommendation Scheme (for early entry offers), and direct applications early in Term 2. We will also be hosting representatives from the University of Newcastle to share with students about university applications and uni life, and from the University of Technology Sydney Business school with information on the Co-op Scholarship program.
